Martial Arts
For Kids & Youth:
Character development
At The Forge Martial Arts Academy, we don’t just train fighters—we forge character. Everything we do is built on four core pillars: Integrity, Discipline, Resilience, and Leadership. Our programs are intentionally designed by age group so students grow in the areas that matter most for real life—learning to handle peer pressure, bullying, daily stress, and stepping into the kind of leadership they admire.
For Adults: A Home in the Chaos
Our adult programs are built for real life. Most of our members work 9–5 jobs, carry stress, and want a place to train that’s challenging—but not toxic. At The Forge, we foster a positive, encouraging culture where the goal isn’t ego or proving something. Martial Arts becomes a home—a place to reset, sharpen yourself, and build confidence in the middle of a chaotic world.
Whether you’re here to compete, get in shape, learn to defend yourself, or just find a crew that pushes you to be better—The Forge is community. A place that will challenge you, support you, and help you live your best life.

Kids Programming
Our Kids Martial Arts programs combine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, practical self-defense, and age-appropriate striking to give students real skills for real life. We train kids to handle peer pressure, bullying, everyday stress, and even worst-case scenarios—building confidence without feeding ego.

Community & Events
We love serving Pagosa beyond regular classes. The Forge hosts community events and specialty programs like school seminars, women’s self-defense workshops, birthday parties, and more. We also offer our space for local businesses and groups who need a powerful environment for trainings, clinics, or special events.
If you’re interested in bringing confidence, empowerment, and practical skills to your school, business, or community group, reach out—we’d love to partner with you.
Class options

Ninja Kids is a 45-minute class designed for ages 3–8, offered 1–2 days per week with the option to train up to 4 days per week. Kids learn real-world fundamentals in self-defense, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, while also building agility and athleticism through obstacle-course style training. Along the way, students gain confidence with opportunities to practice leadership, coaching, and public speaking.

Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is beginner-friendly while still challenging for experienced grapplers. This ground-fighting program focuses on takedowns, submissions, and practical self-defense in a supportive, high-level training environment. Classes are 1.5 hours, with open mat options during the week, and we welcome travelers and locals alike.

Adult Boxing (teens welcome) is a striking-only class with minimal contact, focused on building strong boxing fundamentals while delivering a great workout. It’s a perfect stand-alone option—and an excellent add-on to your MMA training.

Youth Warriors is a 1-hour class for athletes ages 8 and up, offered 1–2 days per week with the option to train up to 4 days per week. Students build real-world skills in self-defense, boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, and more—training both body and mind. Alongside technique, we place a strong emphasis on leadership, coach development, and confidence, helping students grow into capable, disciplined young warriors on and off the mats.

MMA isn’t just the brutal sport you see under UFC lights—it’s the blend of multiple martial arts into a well-rounded, practical self-defense skillset. Because every athlete has a different body type and background, MMA can be shaped into a style that fits you. And even if you never plan to fight, MMA is still self-defense—something we can all learn, while hoping we never have to use.
